Ponce de Leon is a sleepy little town of 500 residents. Natural Springs are abundant in our
little town. A very quiet and safe community. Summertime brings local folks and tourists who come to these beautiful natural cold water springs for a refreshing dip.
Right here in Ponce de Leon we have three very large natural springs. Florida State Park - Ponce de Leon State Park A WPA created park with wonderful old stone walls surrounding the spring. All the locals and many folks from lower
Alabama come take a cool dip in the summertime. Large natural spring sends - spills out gallons and gallons of pure fresh clear water. This spring water then spills over a small damn
creating a shallow creek. I play in the creek with our Dalmation Pearl. She loves splashing in the water! Don't we all. Picnic area/restrooms. Located about a mile from Heart to Heart Retreats.
Vortex Springs This is a very large natural spring with extensive underwater caves
used for scuba diving. It is a international destination for scuba divers. They have camping, picnic area/restrooms. Large pretty koi swimming in spring. Morrison Springs Another local natural spring, a favorite with local folks as well...
with due reason. Kayaks, fishing, swimming, picnics, beautiful old Florida Cypress trees. Complete with a rope swing from a huge cypress tree. The kids love it here! |
